The dawn of 29 August 2023,  reverberated with a plethora of celebrations in the HEMA Campus. A splendid commixture of events took place beginning with Onam Celebration, Rakshabandhan Celebration, National Sports Day Celebration & the most awaited inauguration of our new Fine Arts Room.

Life becomes a festival when gaiety and culture blends together and the festival of Onam delivers the same. Hema Higher Secondary School celebrated Onam in its traditional flavour with Talapoli, Attapoo and impersonating King Mahabali. In Kerela, it is believed that King Mahabali visits his subjects once in a year to witness their well being and prosperity. A colourful dance of Thiruvathira was performed by the students to mark this harvest festival. Our GC member Shri. Sanjeev dressed up like King Mahabali amplified the celebration. An inter-house Attapoo (Floral Rangoli) making competition was also conducted on this occasion. 

Rakhi is the thread that binds two souls in a bond of joy forever. Brotherhood and sisterhood is wrapped into one single thread depicting a bond of trust, love & responsibility forever. The Rakshabandan celebration was beautifully presented by Classes IV & V. A stupendous dance performance depicting the sweet-sour relation of a brother and sister was phenomenally performed on stage by the little Hemaites.

Sports creates a bond between contemporaries that lasts a lifetime. To commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand, National Sports Day was celebrated with various Inter-house Tug-o-war & Volleyball matches to mark the day.

Padmashree awardee, Durga Bai Vyam, who is one of the foremost Pradhan Gond artist, inaugurated our newly constructed Fine Arts room today. In her paintings she imbues her characters with evocative personalities with stories to tell. She is an artist constantly altering the way of folk art and making her mark in the world.

The celebration of this magnanimity was witnessed for the first time in the history of HEMA.
