2nd October is marked as the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shashtri. HEMA Higher Secondary School celebrated this great day on 30 September 2023 in the memory of these legends.
The celebration started with a soulful shraddhanjali to Mahatma Gandhi ji and Lal Bahadur Shastri ji.
The quadrangle echoed with the melodious words of 'Vaishnav Jan to' and a valiant poetry recitation by Divyansh Gupta (Class IX) followed by a frolicsome skit on the historic Salt Satyagraha Movement where Mahatma Gandhi ended the salt tax levied by Britishers and a declamation of Lal Bahadur Shashtri ji.
A tribute to these legends was given in the form of a consequential dance performance. A quiz competition was also organised for the students of class I -XII. The celebration ended with a gust of patriotism by singing the National Song.
Let's imbibe the message that unity and non-violence can bring about a real change in the society.
