Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the first of ten Sikh gurus and the founder of Sikhism. His birth anniversary is observed as Gurupurab across the globe. Guru Nanak ji travelled widely to spread the message of oneness and compassion. The students of Class XI of HEMA Higher Secondary School presented a special assembly on 25th November to celebrate this festival. The celebration commenced with prayer followed by a demonstration of the customary Prabhat Pheri. After the melodious rendition of Shabad Gurbani by the school choir the students presented a small skit to emphasize the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The teachings of Guru Nanak Devji were exuberantly staged in the form of a skit which gave an insight to Sikhism to the students. Kirat Karo, Naam Japo, Wannd Chhako the Three Golden Rules by Guru Nanak Devji should be imbibed by each one of us. The celebration came to an end with a quiz on Guru Nanak Jayanti which was very enthusiastically answered by the audience.
